Social Department

The Social Department of Welamukotuk First Nation is dedicated to supporting the well-being of our members and families. We understand that social supports are an important foundation for a strong community, and our team works to ensure that every member has access to the programs and services they need in times of difficulty or transition.


Our Role

The Social Department provides assistance with income support, housing needs, and essential living expenses, while also offering guidance and referrals to outside resources when needed. Our goal is to meet immediate needs with compassion while helping members build long-term stability and independence.


Programs & Services

  • Income Assistance – Financial support for eligible members and families
  • Basic Needs Support – Help with essentials such as food, shelter, and clothing
  • Referrals – Connection to community programs, government services, and external agencies
  • Forms & Applications – Assistance with completing paperwork for benefits and programs
  • Family Support – Guidance for members facing challenges at home or in the community

Our Commitment

The Social Department works with dignity and respect, ensuring that members feel heard, supported, and cared for. We believe in strengthening families, empowering individuals, and promoting a healthier, more resilient community.
