WELAMUKOTUK YOUTH

Our youth are the future leaders of Welamukotuk First Nation. They carry the spirit of our people forward with their creativity, energy, and determination. As they walk their paths in education, culture, and community life, we work together to ensure they are supported every step of the way.

The Role of our Youth

  • Future Leaders – Youth are encouraged to take pride in their Wolastoqey identity and to step into leadership roles within the community.
  • Culture Carriers – By learning our language, songs, and traditions, youth help keep Wolastoqey ways of life strong for generations to come.
  • Community Builders – Through sports, education, work, and volunteering, our youth bring new ideas and energy to strengthen our Nation.

Supporting Our Youth

Welamukotuk First Nation is dedicated to creating opportunities that help our young people thrive. From education and employment training to cultural programs and recreational activities, we invest in youth so they can build bright futures while staying connected to their roots.

Our Youth Programs

Welamukotuk First Nation is committed to providing programs that help our young people grow, stay active, and succeed. Current youth programs include:

  • Sports Allowance – All band members are eligible for up to $500.00 per year to support participation in sports and recreation. Please reach out to Stefan Saulis for more information.
  • After School Program (K–8) – A safe and supportive space where students can continue learning, play, and connect after school hours.
  • Hot Lunch Program (K–8) – Free hot lunches provided in select schools for Welamukotuk students, ensuring access to nutritious meals.
  • Summer Program (K–8) – Fun and engaging activities offered during the summer months to keep youth active, learning, and connected.
