Waste Management Department

The Waste Management Department at Welamukotuk First Nation is responsible for keeping our community clean, safe, and healthy. Proper waste collection and disposal help protect our land, water, and environment for future generations.

What We Do

  • Garbage Collection – Regular household and community waste pick-up.
  • Recycling Services – Promoting recycling to reduce waste and encourage sustainability.
  • Community Clean-Ups – Supporting initiatives to keep our community spaces clean and welcoming.
  • Safe Disposal – Ensuring waste is managed in ways that protect the health of our people and the environment.

Our Commitment

Waste management is about more than just collecting garbage, it’s about caring for the land, water, and air that sustain us. We are committed to maintaining a clean community while promoting environmentally friendly practices that reflect Wolastoqey values of respect for the land.
